About Canopus Publishing Limited

Canopus is a book packager, publisher, and multimedia creator. Launched by Robin Rees (formerly CUP/Mitchell Beazley/George Philip/IOP) in November 1999, Canopus specialises in science and astronomy. Canopus packages/produces books and multimedia products for major publishing companies and institutions, and publishes titles in the UK under its own imprint, selling rights in other territories. We sell online through Bristol Books and Publishers, a publishing collective in south west England.

Canopus clients

Canopus is the lead star of the constellation Carina, the Keel, and is named after the pilot of the fleet of the Greek King Menelaus. Today the star is used in spacecraft navigation.
